Conference: Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP) 2025, Malaysia This presentation shared findings from a comprehensive scoping review examining military identity, military culture, and mental health. It introduced the Military Identity Model and explored how identity suppression, compartmentalisation, and disruption—identified across the literature—impact psychological wellbeing. Attendees were invited to consider how these dynamics, while rooted in military contexts, may have broader relevance to other populations experiencing high-stakes identity negotiation, such as first responders, healthcare workers, or individuals in transitional life phases. The session aimed to spark interdisciplinary dialogue on identity resilience and mental health support.
